Mr.M.Al Thani House
A completed family apartment at Marina 24. The shared rooms stay in cream, grey marble and brass; the children’s rooms are given arched, illuminated niches and hand-painted walls — hot-air balloons for one, a ballerina and blossom for the other.
The living room: a marble television wall, a brass bar and the mirrored lattice that divides the dining area.
The living room is anchored by a marble television wall with walnut inlays and a brass bar counter; a mirrored lattice screen separates the dining area and doubles the chandelier. A long cream sofa and two swivel armchairs sit on a pale rug beneath a stepped ceiling.
The master bedroom is lined with mirrored wardrobes and a quilted headboard wall in cream, with a feather chandelier and a marble-framed television. The adjoining dressing area is fitted with brass-handled drawers and a round mirror.
Each child’s room was designed around a story. The first holds a mint arched bookcase with balloons and aeroplanes painted across the wall and a model plane hanging from the ceiling; the second, in pink and lilac, pairs a scalloped headboard with a floral mural and a feather pendant.
