Bosphorus Duplex
A completed residence overlooking the Bosphorus, photographed on a bright spring morning. Cream panelling and pale oak set a classical scene; a fireplace framed in blue-and-white İznik tiles, navy velvet and a Venetian mirror give it an unmistakably Istanbul character.
The salon: İznik-tiled fireplace, navy velvet and a brass coffee table beneath the crystal chandelier.
The main salon is arranged in two groups either side of the tiled fireplace: a long cream sofa with a pair of navy velvet armchairs on one side and a mirrored dining wall with ten upholstered chairs on the other. A brass-footed coffee table carries a small collection of Ottoman-inspired ceramics.
The master bedroom is lined with pale embroidered panels and mirrored wardrobes that borrow the water; a dressing area sits behind a channelled headboard wall. A second bedroom is papered in a blue botanical print with a grey quilted bed; the twin room is finished in soft pink with brass-framed headboards.
The terrace, glazed on three sides, holds a woven dining set looking across the strait to the European shore — the room the family uses most.
