Kuwait Villa
A private villa in Kuwait designed from concept to visualisation. A formal majlis in cream velvet and gilded shelving, a twelve-seat dining room, walnut-lined bedrooms and grey marble bathrooms are held together by one restrained palette.
The majlis: symmetrical velvet seating, gilded niches and twin chandeliers.
The majlis is the largest room of the house: cream panelled walls with illuminated display niches, two symmetrical groups of tufted velvet sofas on a pale rug, brass and glass coffee tables and a pair of crystal chandeliers. A marble fireplace with a slim gas ribbon closes the axis.
The dining room seats twelve at a walnut table beneath a cascading chandelier, with grey velvet chairs and a mirrored sideboard. Family rooms continue in walnut and cream, with a television wall set into a pale stone surround.
Bedrooms are individually coloured — burgundy, grey, oatmeal — but share the same vocabulary of walnut panelling, upholstered headboard walls and brass-edged dressing tables. Bathrooms are clad in grey marble with walnut vanities and round illuminated mirrors.
