Kempinski Residence
A city apartment in dark walnut, blue linen and chinoiserie. Figured walnut veneer wraps the living room; a single bird-and-blossom panel, blue curtains and Murano-style glass chandeliers lift the mood from sober to festive.
The living and dining room read against a wall of high-gloss walnut and blue linen.
The living and dining room is one long space read against a wall of high-gloss walnut. A painted silk panel behind the dining table and steel-blue curtains provide the colour; everything else — sofas, dining chairs, coffered ceiling — stays in ivory and grey.
The television wall is composed as a piece of furniture: a central walnut panel flanked by two glazed vitrines with mirrored backs, all framed in a stepped cornice with concealed cove lighting.
The master bedroom pairs vertical walnut boards with a quilted headboard wall and a tiered ceiling. A relief plaster wall of plum blossom, a curved dressing table and a mint bench at the foot of the bed give the suite its character; a glazed dressing room and a guest suite continue the palette in softer tones.
