Emirgan Bosphorus Villa 3D
A neoclassical family residence above the Bosphorus at Emirgan. Striped paper, cream panelling and herringbone parquet form the background; emerald velvet, a marble fireplace, a navy study and a family games room give it life.
The living room: emerald velvet armchairs around the marble fireplace, beneath a crystal chandelier.
The house is organised along a marble-floored gallery lined with striped wallpaper above cream wainscot. Arched openings lead into a dining room of oval-backed emerald chairs and a living room with a marble fireplace, open shelving of collected ceramics and a crystal chandelier.
Private rooms move away from the classical vocabulary without leaving the palette. The master bedroom is dominated by a channelled headboard in pale blue velvet beneath a ring chandelier; a study is lined in dark walnut with a curved navy desk; the children’s rooms are fitted with built-in desks beneath the windows.
On the lower level a large family room combines two seating groups in tan leather and linen with a glass football table, a climbing wall and a boxing bag — all against the same striped paper and herringbone floor, a reminder that a formal house can also be a playful one.
