Bosphorus Residence
Two adjoining apartments on the Marmara shore, completed and photographed after handover. Floor-to-ceiling glass on two sides brings the sea into every room; the interior answers with oatmeal linen, smoked oak, bronze and a quiet collection of blue-and-white ceramics.
The corner of glass is the room’s only picture; furniture is kept low so as not to interrupt it.
The living room is arranged around the corner of glass rather than a wall. A deep sectional sofa in woven oatmeal fabric follows the windows, and a low bronze table with a stone top gathers the group beneath a tiered ring chandelier. Curtains are layered — a sheer inner layer and a heavier ribbed layer in warm grey — so that the light can be tuned across the day without ever closing off the view.
A brass mashrabiya screen separates the dining area from the lounge without interrupting the horizon. The fireplace wall is clad in book-matched grey stone with illuminated niches to either side, and the same stone returns in the master bedroom behind a channelled headboard and a round dressing mirror.
The terrace was treated as a second living room: teak decking, woven armchairs in navy and white and a round dining table looking straight out over the water.
